    Default Changing IP

    Me and a friend want to change our IP's lol.
    I have windows vista, he has XP

    I have:
    OS: Vista Home Premium
    A ZyXEL NBG334W router
    Setup:

    I dont use the router but other family members do.

    He has:
    OS: Windows XP
    Model: Belkin F5D9230-4
    Setup


    Please explain in simple terms .
    We have tried unplugging routers etc overnight, that didnt work.

    You could try the "ip /release" method? I have never done it so i dunno if it works.

    i just tried that and now my computer wont even connect to the internet...?
    it works on my dads wireless laptop but not mine..

    you did do "ipconfig /renew" yeah!?

    yesn i did everything it said.
    my computer says its connected to the internet and all that but when i try to get on msn or a website it just acts like im not connected
    when i do ipconfig and that it says 'media is not connected', yet everything is in place

    doesn't matter, fixed it.
    we also worked out how to change ips by ourselves, ill write a tutorial in a bit.

    Don't worry about writing a tutorial, everyone that is computer savvy knows how to change their IP.

    Easy thing to do is factory reset your modem. All you need afterwards is the email and password you signed up with and bam.

    Mines does it automatically every month or something. It's properly messed up.
