Need Help Badly [Converting & Cutting .MKV/.AVI]

Hey,

Well I have a portable HDD and I normally put all my stuff I download like TV programmes from america and stuff and films onto it than watch them through the PS3 by plugging it in their and watching them on big TV but I downloaded a blu ray and tried to put on their but because PS3 has to be FAT32 when I tried to move onto portable HDD it said the file was to large and it was also a .MKV so it had to be converted anyone know how I can split the MKV into half than a good and fast video convertion software so I can change them to .AVI and watch it on PS3.

I am going to do some google searching myself and find some stuff but thought I'd ask here as well incase anyone knows some really good software or method.

This is the best program I know of for converting MKVs for Xbox 360 and PS3 - don't know if it can do splitting though. Make sure you read everything because you need some extra software to use it
