    Default Things to do in New York? +Rep

    Well my Mum and me are going to New York for a week for my 16th Birthday. We're going towards the end of May and I was just wondering if anybody new of things that we could see apart from the blatantly obvious.

    I mean like museums or Galleries etc, that are not well known and advertised as much that would be good to visit.

    Also if there's any festivals as such going on at that time too?

    +Rep for good suggestions.

    Are you going to see Ground Zero?

    I would, i mean it was an event that shook the world, so it would be quite good to visit the location. Apparently its very emotional when you get there.

    Ok, hi i've never been to New York but i am going to sometime in August
    I haven't been there yet but this person in the Bank was talking about it a on Wednesday he said something along these lines; theres actually an Television Studio where you can actually sit in the Audience i don't know where like so don't ask LOL.

    Then, theres an Apple Store it's really really really seriously cool!!! It looks a bit like this exactly;

    If you get your $ spending money then maybe you could buy some iPods, Gadgets and things like that if you don't know where it is in Times Square but i am sure there will give you one anyway when you done all the New York paying jibbish or whatever lol it's one BIG store i was told

    I've got really excited writing this now because i can't wait to go ROFL i hope you have a fun time at New York it's got to be an amazing place discovering whats it's actually really like in the United States of America!!!

    & If you are lucky maybe you could go to Washington D.C if your mum lets you just ask her don't be shy or scared to visit the White House

    Have Fun!

    Oh I think the television studio you're talking about is NBC. That would be good but apparently the queues can become huge.

    Thanks for the ideas and tips and I hope you do go in August and have a great time!

    No offence to anybody, but don't go to ground zero its a waste of time if you want to see anything much. As much as I was interested in 9/11, when I got there it was really nothing and I went in January. Its just construction work and you can't see anything cause its all boarded off. However its quite interesting to compare the buildings to see how big they actually were. And a bit of a walk is battery park which has a ball of metal from the WTC, and you can see staten island (Statue of liberty) from near there
