    Default Godiva Festival 2009

    Over the weekend of 3rd-5th July 2009, Coventry's War Memorial Park will host the 12th Godiva Festival, the UK’s biggest and best FREE and TICKETLESS family festival.


    Last years highlights included, Grammy winning Reggae quintet, Inner Circle headlining the main stage on Friday night, The Enemy and Art Brut, sharing the stage on Saturday, and Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly and Gabriella Cilmi drawing the festival to a close on Sunday evening.

    HEADLINE ANNOUNCMENT - IDLEWILD TO HEADLINE THE MAINSTAGE!

    Last year's was quite good, TheEnemy was bar far the best.

    Last years was terrible. Even if you do ignore the hordes of drunken chavs, the fact you had to walk the entire way round the park to get in, terrible weather and somewhat repetitive line up weren't anything to get excited about. I think the best thing about the whole event was Shadowplay in one of the tents on the Friday night.

    2007 was much better with The Enemy and The Cribs.

    Though I guess this year might be better with some really good local bands like Pint Shot Riot, Russian Gun Dogs and Shadowplay bound to be on the bill.
