    Default Pointless Posting Rule

I'm mainly meaning in 'Cool Rooms' and Pictures etc where it's easy to just post 'nice room' 'nice picture' etc. According to the rules, pointless posting includes a post that is meaningless ie 'ngkahg.' Well, I was just wondering if it was possible to add "nice room" "nice picture" into this because it doesn't even contribute to the thread at all. :S It's quite obviously just an attempt to raise their post count and it's seriously annoying when you've given a decent post giving criticism or your opinion and someone just replies with "nice."

    I don't mean to pick on anyone but this is exactly what I mean;

    http://www.habboxforum.com/showpost....4&postcount=11
    http://www.habboxforum.com/showpost....91&postcount=3
    http://www.habboxforum.com/showpost....8&postcount=12
    http://www.habboxforum.com/showpost....7&postcount=11
    http://www.habboxforum.com/showpost....48&postcount=3
    http://www.habboxforum.com/showpost....70&postcount=5
    http://www.habboxforum.com/showpost....91&postcount=7
    http://www.habboxforum.com/showpost....66&postcount=5
    http://www.habboxforum.com/showpost....61&postcount=9
    http://www.habboxforum.com/showpost....7&postcount=10
    http://www.habboxforum.com/showpost....33&postcount=7
    http://www.habboxforum.com/showpost....76&postcount=5
    http://www.habboxforum.com/showpost....76&postcount=5
    http://www.habboxforum.com/showpost....55&postcount=4

OH, this one made me laugh ; http://www.habboxforum.com/showpost....90&postcount=4

(wouldn't click on them all, most of them will just say same thing but a different thread )

Funny thing is, I didn't go out looking everywhere to find these, all I needed to do was check his recent posts so I think it's just a joke now. I'm sure I could find a lot of examples, especially in 'Welcome' forum but I can't really complain about that as it has a purpose. Basically, I think people should try to contribute more unless they feel they really need to post in the thread and all they can think of is "wow, amazing!" It's like, usually you only get people commenting in a thread if it's something they're interested in and wants to give their view on it, I wouldn't post in a layout I'm not interested in unless there was something specific I cared about. Maybe, just maybe, it's possible one person can be interested in graphics & habbo & computer games & alts & photography & websites & layouts but I don't really think so.

occasionally I do post like that if I see an ALT I like or something and I want the thread starter to know I thought it was good and I was going to rep them but that ammount of posts is over the top lol.

Normally like you said I only post if I have something useful to add to the thread
I’ll be a story in your head, but that’s okay, because we’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? Because it was, you know. It was the best. A daft old man who stole a magic box and ran away. Did I ever tell you that I stole it? Well, I borrowed it. I always meant to take it back. Oh, that box, Amy, you’ll dream about that box. It’ll never leave you. Big and little at the same time. Brand-new and ancient and the bluest blue ever. And the times we had, eh? Would had…Never had. In your dreams, they’ll still be there. The Doctor and Amy Pond and the days that never came.

I agree, but with some threads it can be seen as pointless when there's not much else you can reply with. I made a thread about my dog, and everyone replied with 'aww nice dog' or along those lines but there's not much else you can reply with, really. I've clicked on new posts and nearly the whole page is filled with the same user posting 'welcome to hxf' which shouldn't really be allowed in my opinion.

I completely agree. To the above about your dog, theres not much you can improve on your dog though is there?

I think ok, somone likes it but what could I improve on? I personally think its pointless!

There's not a lot of pet threads made though so i'd say it's acceptable Yeah, about the welcome threads, I did notice someone say 'welcome' when it was actually a leaving thread o.o lol, that's a bit out of hand aswell but as there is a sort of purpose it's alright.

haha, the irony of eight's post getting edited

Yeah I see what you mean, but I guess it is getting feedback on an alt. I don't post in alts much but when I do I always look at it and give it my honest opinion whereas some people just post the same message in each one without even looking at the graphic/photo/design.
    I love it when you

Worst abuse of this is in the welcome threads and congratulations.. you get people who make topics like "hi there!" and then explain they've been here for years and you still get people posting "welcome " because they're just posting for post count and don't read it at all

I do it every now and again when I honestly do see something that I like, that really catches my attention; though there are definitely people who take the piss - but where do you draw the line? It would be an incredibly hard rule to enforce since it'd be hard to tell when members are taking the piss or are generally interested in viewing and commenting on said threads.

It'd be easy to draw the line with the welcome / leaving forum, just click on the sub-topic and then look down the list. If you see that someone has posted through the whole sub-topic then you know they are taking the piss.. (i know jord does it [whitted the name out])...

Also, you could make a rule that says you have to say something more then just "welcome " maybe a brief introduction about yourself :S...

And a thread in the pets section called "Post your pets" would be good to stop all the 'look at ma dog!' threads or what ever...
