Default Yellow Solarium about to bounce back?

We all remember the Yellow Solarium (formerly Strobe Solarium), released in late 2006 when Faithless visited the hotel, in school time, they were under Rares for 5 minutes. They were going at around 10.0 CS upon their release and within a week had boomed upto 50.0 CS on Habbox, with one person buying one for 70.0 CS at one point (bear in mind that Thrones were around 30.0 CS then).

As of January 2009 I had a look into these as they were and had been around 4.0 CS since they had dramatically collapsed from their 50.0 CS price. I searched hard and eventually found a one off trade where 7 got sold for the equilvent of 21.5 CS per.

As of now we are seeing Elliot Thompson who is a member of this forum prepared to offer 40.0 CS for one. I found while I was investigating it and with an estimated guess, my opinion is that only a maximum of 20 remain in circulation and those who own at the moment I know are not keen on selling.

Anyway, what do you think of this dramatic comeback and did you gain/remember when they hit the 50.0 CS mark after they were released? ~ I used to think Gothic Ectoplasm Fountains/romantique_clock's were the rarest normal rares, but this certainly has taken that title.

Its a real prime example of how nowadays the rarity of the item is pushing the values of items much more than they once did. I would love to see habbox have the rarity of items placed next to their value like hhgs does. But yeah i've followed this item for a long time and thats why i'm so keep to buy one, and like I said their rarity has pushed the price I am willing to offer from 8 hcs to 40 hcs.

It would be something I would like implemented on habbox but i guess ive grown accustomed to using hhgs for the rarity of items just as I have habbox for values.

Should have kept this quiet Dan. Now everyone who see's 40CS as nothing, are going to be rearing to buy this now lol. I would be guessing rightly that the reason the Yellow Solarium dropped this low in the first place, is because of the release of other solariums? As people looked at solariums as rubbish since that happened.

No, the problem was hyper-growth of the rare. It always happens, any rare which rises too fast will drop. This can be seen in the Yellow Solarium, Green Wooly Pillow, Russian Samovar & Serpent of Doom which all collapsed shortly after they rose in price. When a rare rises more slowly it tends to stick at the price for longer, such as the Bronze & Silver Elephant & Bird Bath (grey). Many others can be used as examples, but I think the reason why the Yellow Solarium was kept so low for so long after its collapse was due to the fact the other Solariums were released.

Hyper-rise/growth in any rare is not good and is unsustainable, whereas a slow growth of its price will ensure it sticks at a higher price for a longer period of time.

Ah, well I guess that does make sense when you think of rares that have dropped due to too much rise in value, like the examples you have given. What would you say of the throne value though? As is has been increasing non-stop for god knows how long. Or has it not dropped yet due to the demand it is needed for? (casino's).
