    Thumbs up It was tough!

I used to use this forum a lot a longgg while ago. But here's how my life shaped with me being gay.

The last you would of heard, after tormenting myself for years I finally admitted to myself when I was 15 that I was gay.

It took me until I was seventeen to start telling people properly, because I told my best friend when I had just turned sixteen that I was gay. He never took that well .

I first of all told my twin brother, whom apparently used to have lengthy chats with my big sister about my sexuality.
"Don't you think it's strange Allan hasn't had a girlfriend in a year or two" you get the point... He took it quite well. The way he deals with it is that he accepts me, but he still has some homophobic comments, but he accepts me at least .

After that, I told my big sister. She laughed in my face literally and after a few minutes laughing said "I've known for years". It took me freaking ages to tell her and she knew? LOL.

I told everyone in my new work (I started nine months ago now) a few weeks after I started. I felt that in my work (hairdressing) I might be treated as a predator - a straight guy working in hairdressing? so I admitted to everyone... the girls loved it especially because they didn't feel uncomfortable anymore.

My dadddddd now there was a toughy.
I kept building up to tell him but I just couldn't! Once I sat on the edge of our sofa, trying to tell him. I was there an hour and eventually walked away.

One night me and a few mates went out for a drink... that drink turned into a good few hours downing shot after shot. So I returned home, with dutch courage and told my stepmum to tell my dad I was gay.

    She did.

We never spoke properly for a week, he stopped looking at me in the eye and instead of being hurt I got angry at him. I confronted him and he admitted he was too ashamed because of what his "friends might think".

We argued, never spoke. It was so annoying... that lasted for months where we wouldn't talk for a week, then argue, then not talk. Eventually I told him he'd lose me, not the other way around. I told him I could live without him and that I'll walk away from him if he didn't stop it and accept me.

Finally he did, we get on but apparently I'm not allowed any boyfriends in the house. I told him I wouldn't want them to meet him, and if I wanted to bring them home I would of if I wanted to! Also by law, because I pay contribution towards the residence I'm allowed to use my room as I like, as long as I stick to the law LMAO.

What I would say to anyone is don't be hurt, grow a pair and tell those you trust. Don't worry if some people react bad. They're losing you, not the other way around! Never get hurt just keep telling yourself that it's their loss!
