I'm useless with technical equipment, which would be best for storing music, browsing the internet etc. Thank you +REP

IMO I wouldn't get a HP, they are more a business type of company, go for a Dell, ASUS or Samsung.

You claim that HP is to buisness and you suggest Dell(end)?
HP is really good FYI for home. It's their Compaq range which is buisness

I would suggest the DV6 or the DV7 for home use. Probably the DV7 is better but it is more £££

Edit: You want something out of this series: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en...4-3872814.html

I'm going for HP because i can get a discount of up to £200 from them. Can only get 10% off dell so not worth it.

    Thanks for suggestions. +rep

I'm on an hp compaq, its cheap, hardwareing and covers all the bases i need it to. who cares if its aimed at business :p
With just music/Internet in mind maybe you'd wana look at some of the higher end netbooks, 120gb hdd is pretty standard now and you'd gain alot in portability and battery life. After all music and internet use are hardly processor incentive (eeepc 1000HE - 8 hours battery - only around the 300 mark)

Do you have any real preference to size, speed, hdd space, memory or whatever?

Not really, quick browsing of internet (Msn etc). Storing/playing music, watching films. Thats about it really. Not into games.
