    Default Mac OS X encryption.

    Hello,

I'm looking for something that I can use to encrypt my MacBook's drive, I really like Truecrypt system drive encryption for Windows that requires you to enter a boot password but I don't know if anything like this exists for Mac?

    Thanks

Yes, TrueCrypt . It's Unix compatible.

It only supports GRUB and windows bootloaders.

I do have it but it isn't as easy as just shoving a password in at boot

Yeah, I didn't realise it couldn't encrypt the Operating system. It only does the OS on Windows.

What's with everyone wanting to encrypt their drives? Why not just encrypt your downloads?

Well I could encrypt my storage drive but it would be nice to do the full thing.

Because the OS (e.g paging file, various logs) can disclose that you have an encrypted drive and some information about the contents of it.
