Im stuck on what to get for christmas.
    I gots a 800 pound limit (N)
I need a laptop for playing wow, sims and other games. (I don't ever have them on full graphics but would like to on new laptop)
I need it too be fast and not too big.

I really want a Macbook but it does look like alot of money, but i don't know if i can get a laptop (not apple) with the same stuff like graphics and stuff.

First off, you'll get far better specs if you go for a laptop other than a Mac. MacBooks have appalling specifications for their price and you'll no doubt do much better going for a laptop with Windows.

Do you have any OS preferences though? Windows or Mac?

Well I wouldn't buy anything for christmas right now, laptop prices are going down all the time so no doubt if you buy a £800 laptop now you could buy it at around £650 around christmas.

I'd just let the decision come down to the OS you want, but bare in mind you'll get better specs with Windows.

World of Warcraft will run fine on either but Sims 3 would run quite a bit better on Windows due to the better specs. As for other games, they might not be compatible with Mac.

I'm not taking either side because its all down to personal preference. But bare in mind that you can easily install Windows legally on a Mac so games that may not run on OSX you can still run on the Mac. You can of course install OSX on a PC but if you're only really using it for games then you have no need to.

I don't agree with this when it comes to Apple Notebooks, yes with desktops, but not so much with notebooks because actually, if you go to somewhere like Dell you'll get pretty much the same specs for the same price.

I would say if you like Mac OS X then get a decent spec MacBook, bootcamp Windows on it so you can play the Sims etc.. which is what I do at the moment. On the other hand if you're not going to get much use out of OS X then go for something like a Dell, which will be just as good, around the same price and you won't have to bother with dualbooting OS X and Windows.

Save up a bit longer and get an Alienware laptop at retail. You'll be happy... oh so happy.
