Make forums private?

Hey

I would like to make forums private, so when they aren't logged in they can see categories but it says 'Private'

How do i do this? I done it before but forgot lol

I would recommend not over doing the number of private forums you have, it A) reduced effective search engine indexing

AND

B) turns away potential new members because whats the point in signing up if you dont even know whether the content your interested in is even there.

I'd recommend not doing it. Most forums i join i join after reading a thread and wanting to respond to it, i imagine many others do the same.
I'd never join a forum where i couldn't see the topics n posts
