Default Sims 3 Problem updating after format...

    Hey,

I just reinstalled The Sims 3 after formatting my PC and I can't update... Whenever it runs the installer I get "Update Error:I/O operation failed (attribute modification)".

    I am updating from 1.0.631.00002 to 1.3.24.00002.

    Help?!

I have UAC disabled and have tried running as admin anyways before anyone suggests that

Is that a Mac-Sims3 update? I'm sure the PC one hasn't reached 1.3 yet :S

Ask around the Sims 3 community, the "Sims Guru" folk come up with some useful solutions

EDIT: Nvm, just had the update download now

Will do, and yeah thats the PC one, my Mac version updated fine.

The update file the Launcher downloaded was "sims3_1.3.24.00002_from_1.0.631.00002.exe". I bought the game legally and everything lol.

Probably doesn't like the idea of downloading the new update without the other two(?) (though it probably has the other two updates included anyway). The readme/what's been updated results for this update are very odd.

I've had issues going from the base version to 1.3, except mine stops halfway saying 'Invalid File Found'. Don't know how to solve it yet

Ok, fixed, for some reason it worked when I closed Kaspersky, even though Kaspersky is set to interactive mode.

Very strange, it must of been block access for certain files being downloaded :S Did anyone on the Sims 3 EA forums say anything, if you asked them about it?
