So instead of a peaceful horror thing e.g. All quiet on the western front, you want action e.g. Saving private Ryan.

I know it may not be action packed with guns etc, but have you ever heard of Colditz?

Colditz castle was where the POW's who always were escaping got sent. They filled the castle with secret passages away from Germans. When the war was over and the Americans troops got sent to retreive the troops from Colditz, they were informed they could be sent back because they were making a glider in the attic of the castle.

It's full of getaway stories, one man kept escaping and he had two tin legs, so the Germans took his legs off him at night to stop him getting away.

But if I'm rambling on; which war did you want to know about? Or is it any gunpacked films?

    superhappy.

Saving Private Ryan, Letters From Iwo Jima and Flags of Our Fathers. Flags of Our Fathers isn't brilliant, but I listed it simply because its related to Letters From Iwo Jima. It's based on World War II, when the Americans went to capture the Japanese island Iwo Jima. Flags of Our Fathers shows the story from the Americans point of view, Letters From Iwo Jima shows the story from the Japanese point of view. Both are directed by Clint Eastwood. Iwo Jima and Saving Private Ryan are both in the top 250 on IMDb.
