    Exclamation Sony Vegas render speed

Anyway, doesn't it take AGES to render a video, it takes me 1h 20m (approx) for a 12 minute clip to .wmv AWFULLY long, I use the game booster to kinda speed it up... so what are you times?

By the way what's the fastest format to render it as that is uploadable to YouTube straight after the render?

it's to do with the bitrate and compression. What settings are you using?

I wouldn't advise avi as it will either be huge or look crap. I prefer .wmv

Depends what motherboard your computer has, it'll take me about 15-20 minutes to render a full 720p clip which'll be about 9 mins long working at about 500MB. But that's with me boosting the quality with a custom template, if I chose default .wmv it'll be quicker.

It depends how fast your processor is, how fast is it and is it Quad/dual or single core?

Look about on the internet, see if there is a gpgpu renderer out there, if there is that should speed it up a about a hundred times at best.

Yes there is one out there, however you need at least an NVIDIA 8 series card which supports CUDA.

Well done for putting narrowing it into that term, but it's exactly the same thing. If you've got a crap mother board, videos will take ages to render. If you've got a good motherboard, videos will render fairly quickly.

Don't know if you're aiming that at me asking about the speed and stuff so..

Actually, I think some motherboards are better with H.264 than others which would affect render speed.
