I phoned them, technical team said (dunno, you're gonna have to buy a disc), and Im like, I don't want to - they forward me anyways, ssay they're forwarding me to sales team, oh, and both times (i tried twice) they forward me to Microsoft Product Axctivation.

    Thanks a ******* lot.

Uhh excuse me if i'm missing something, but doesnt that just mean you cant extract it where you're trying? Or you've downloaded it to a place where you don't have permissions? Cant you just redownload it somewhere else and extract somewhere else?

Or if not, just download it from a warez site? You have a serial anyway and you've paid for it. So all you're doing is downloading the files.

Its on desktop - so no problems there
And the only ones I can find on warez sites, are "Ultimate Cracked" therea rn't any proper rips of the disc.

I just phoned thema gain, and the sales team want me to pay £40 for a disc!!

£40?! Seriously?! When I ordered mine via the student offer website, I paid £30 for Windows 7 and only £9 for a disc?

I'm waiting for the disc to arrive to install it, as I can't be bothered downloading.

But yeah, point that out to them

You won't need to. Just uninstall it if it's installed, go to the site you downloaded it from and save it into a different folder, like desktop or whatever, and extract it from there.
I'm burnin' up for you baby.

This might be of some use to you (even though you are now running 7)

    http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/23/w...king-for-many/

The Windows 7 launch seems to have gone off mostly roses and sunbeams, but we're hearing today that quite a few people have had issues installing the downloadable $29 student upgrade edition on 32-bit Vista -- apparently the file doesn't unpack to an ISO, but instead to an executable and two bundles that don't function properly, and eventually the process errors out with a 64-bit app trying to launch on 32-bit systems. It's possible to create an ISO using some hackery, but the install process seems to be 50/50 after that -- we've heard of both success and further crashes. For it's part, Microsoft says it's looking into things, so hopefully a newly repackaged download will be forthcoming -- every party has its ups and downs, right?
