Default For those high speed internet lovers.

    Hey,

Thought I should probably post something useful after my lack of input on this forum lately, so here goes!

After paying for VM's 50MB Package, and receiving a meagre 10MB Or so, I decided to invest in a new method other than wireless.

At first, I did have my doubts about Power Line, but I had some spare cash, so I thought why not. I've ordered Cisco Power line adapters, and selected 5 day delivery, it arrived within a day! Pretty good huh?

Well, set-up took me by surprise, no installations required, not even on a PC that's never lived with wired technology before, it took me 5 minutes.

My speed is up by about 10MB, which is reasonable. BUT the best part is, I don't have to prance around looking like a fool with my wireless adapter trying to get the best wireless signal possible.

At first, I must say I used a Surge protect socket area, and it didn't detect it, because this surge protector obviously was blocking the signal, so I have put it into a wall socket and it was picked up immediately.

I only purchased the 85Mbps adapters, about £70 or so. Now I know it works, I'm probably going to look at their 200Mbps or 1Gbps for media streaming and the like.

Anyway, hope this helps all those lovers of high speed internet, who often loose dignity trying to position their adapters in the best area to receive that extra 1Mbps or so!

You can stream HD video at 100mbps quite happily you know? No point unless the whole network is Gigabit IMO

Yes, I did consider this, but with the huge advance in technology, I want something that will last me a while as things move on like speeds. I don't imagine it'll be long before we can receive 100's of Mbps from ISPs.
