Default Using a USB Hard Disk on Ethernet?

I'm considering buying http://www.ebuyer.com/product/160907 (Seagate 500Gb External HDD). Can I plug this into my Belkin G+ MIMO router using a USB to Ethernet adapter such as this one: http://www.google.co.uk/products/cat...907&sa=title#p ..and access it on the wireless network? I know that if I did do this, I'd need http://www.cables2u.co.uk/coupler-fe...ale-p-275.html to link the cable from the Seagate to the socket from the adapter, and an ethernet cable from the adapter to the router.

No, you would need a specialised USB over IP device.

Judging by the price of that Belkin thing, its cheaper to buy an NAS, so thats what I'm doing.

Yeah, I have one of those Belkin's, the transfer rate is (somewhat predictibly) slow, so I'd recommend against one.
