did you use a kettle to defrost your windscreen? or did you have a chip before hand?

nah was no ice on it. i think there was a small chip under the wiper that i didnt see, til it was too late

Yeah.. a small chip can easily turn to a crack in this horrible weather.. if you've got free windscreen cover then go through insurance but if it's £75-£100 you're really better off going to a scrappy and getting it fitted for cheap somewhere.
