Firstly, if you have no clue how to make a website, Don't, it will fail.

    But anyway,

    Getting your website

I recommended that you buy a domain (www.whatever.com) and web hosting (so people can go on your website) from http://www.simplexwebs.com/. This is because its cheep and reliable.

Next you will need to design the website. To design your website you will need something like paint, Adobe Fireworks or Adobe Photoshop. To purchase/Download these go to www.adobe.com.

Once you have your design, you will need to code the website. Coding takes some time to learn, because of all of the codes and styles. If you want to learn I recommend trying www.w3schools.com, this will run you though the basics. Or if you have enough money, you can pay someone to code it.

Finally advertising. Advertising plays a big role in your websites popularity. If you advertise allot, your site may become successful, if not, it will fail. I recommended advertising it on online forums (Habbo or not) there are loads of teenagers/adults out there that may/may not want to use your website.

    Good Luck.

When you say like Facebook you'd be better starting on something small.

A social network requires a lot of of work, coding and other stuff. Your best to start with the basics and you never know you might end up going really far and creating something big like facebook

Please, this is most idiotic thing I have heard. We're not born being able to build websites, everyone starts off with no clue...

Complete rubbish, if everyone did this and didn't learn how to code and design - we wouldn't have any websites.

He's not completely wrong. People shouldn't try to create a website if they have no clue how. They should learn about the creation of websites and then attempt to create it. He said nothing about being born with the ability to create websites.

That's a massive contradiction! Sure, if you're not very skilled you can't set your sights very high- but making a website (even with Piczo, Webs, whatever) is having a clue to me. Skill speaks in tiresome, boring words but passion is poetry if you ask me.

Please define failure in terms of websites, too. Not earning thousands within a few months?
