Am i being harsh?

There's this girl in my friendship group (A) and basically she's just a really nasty person, i do not like her at all and by the sounds of it, not many other people do.
just to some it up, one of my other friends (B) was going out with my best friend (C) and C dumped B. however, B then wrote C a letter explaining his feelings towards her and asked A to give this letter to C as he would not see her for ages.
However, A then shows EVERYONE but C this letter and then keeps this letter. (this was in December).
By now time A still has the letter and although B's feelings have changed towards C he wants the letter back and I am completely on B's side and am trying to help him get this letter back. however, when i ask A for this letter she starts calling me horrible and a ***** and starts crying.
But she has done so many other things to me as well she's tried to stir things between me and so many people including my boyfriend. i also took her on holiday and she went in a mood with me during the holiday and after. she told her own mother to drop dead.
she's completely self obsessed.
if anyone tells her a secret she'll tell EVERYONE.
she told everyone that her boyfriend was circumcised then told her boyfriend it was me that told people so he'd hate me. she's constant;y calling me a hypocrite when she has a go at people for pretending to be drunk and has one can of strongbow and is 'off her face'

is it harsh that i now don't want to spend time with her?
because everyone seems to agree with me but then she cries and everyones like awwww poor her.
i try to arrange things and don't invite her because i don't want her there yet people find that 'mean' ?
sorry more of a rant but i hate it.

It's just annoying that everyone's ******** about her behind her back yet I'm the only one that'll say anything to her but when i do she starts crying and everyone's like ahhhh poor A. x

Get rid of her!

She sounds like a total pain. You are not harsh at all

You need to see through her - maybe the crying is on purpose, to get sympathy & to get you back

Look at what shes done to you in the past & then think - 'do i really need to take her back?'
