Default Serious Minibook help needed [+Rep]

Okay im currently using a Asus Eee 701 currently running on linux.
But I want to install windows xp sp3 on it, I have it currently on a memory stick, I try to run the setup.exe on linux and that obviously doesnt work... So I then tried going into the BIOS menu and telling the minibook to boot from the USB drive (which has setup.exe on it)... Although when I boot this up, it says the USB drive does not have any System OS installed on it... I realise this but thats what im trying to do, install XP on my minibook?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Are you sure your version of windows xp is working, and not corrupt or if all files are there.

Apart from that everything should work...

4gb hard drive is nowhere near enough. windows xp plus the service packs will take minimum 5gb.

But surely it should at least get the setup.exe running and then notify me that there isnt enough space? Then I could upgrade the hard drive if need be?

Wait what? No way will it take 5GB up.

Your problem is that you haven't created the bootable USB stick properly, you cant just drag the files over. http://wiki.eeeuser.com/windowsxpusb You want method 1.
