    Number 10 recognises that talks with the Lib Dems have not and will not reach any positive conclusion, and they are now discussing the method of declaring that their side of the negotiation is over, BBC Radio 5 Live's political correspondent Jon Pienaar says.
    Didn't think Lib Dems would accept Tories.

    Well he resigned yesterday anyway. In a way its better for Labour for not joining up with LD.

    He announced his resignation for September to allow talks with LibDems so Conservatives could not get in. 24 hours later the talks are already over and so he's quitting today.
