Does anyone produce their own music here, in particular EDM?

I wouldn't mind having a dabble in it but I'm not really sure where to start? What is the best DAW to use?

Hardwire wise, I was just looking at getting a MIDI keyboard (probably something like the Axiom 49 from M-Audio) since I already have some KRK's as monitors for my DJ gear and a soundcard. Is there anything else that's an absolute neccessity that I'm missing?
