Depends what you're lying about, to a certain extent lying can actually help.

Being honest is always a good thing, atleast you won't forget what lies you've told and accidently contradict yourself.

I think you have to lie sometimes. My mate got a new tattoo, it's vile, I *had* to pretend to like it.

Depends on the situation. Honesty isn't always the best policy but it can be the right policy.

Should we tell a little child that Santa isn't real? Of course not!

Honesty is the best policy in most cases where a statement is best described as the truth, but things on an opinion level like looks or "does my bum look big in this" can be lied about as it may or may not be true. So I guess honesty where truth is a key factor is a definite good, as you can't be called a liar or a traitor, as you are merely being truthful. It's also how far the truth or lies goes, looks again are just forgettable comments, but protecting someone from a crime is a bad lie, and could hurt both the accused and protector at fault.

    Yay for complicated posts

no not always as the truth hurts - and not everyone wants to hear the truth, or be hurt.

white lies are ok, fully fledged protection lies will end in pain usually so no honesty isnt the best policy, but it should be.
