Default Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans

Saw this one yesterday. Not very easy to describe - I can't say it was a bad film but I think I only liked it for Nicolas Cage. These type of characters are awesome to watch him play. I'd be keen to read the thoughts of anyone else who may have seen it. Heard some crazy stuff about the director too!

Heard good things, especially about Nic Cage's performance. I love the original and I severly doubt the remake goes down a path as dark.

It's not really dark at all, no. But I would say his performance is spectacular. On the contrary to what I previously said, I've actually been feeling like watching it again over the last day or two.

Everything about it corny tbh, especially the name.

The title of the remake is horribly long - Herzog wants to franchise it with sequels of bad cops in different cities across the US. The original is just Bad Lieutenant.

So each film will be a different actor playing a different cop in a different city? I really can't see it being done better than Cage and the stuff his character did...

Apparently so. Would get very boring very fast.
