oh shame rip. was not very into their music but had the odd one or two songs on my ipodSlipknot bassist Paul Gray was apparently found dead next to pills and a hypodermic needle.
TMZ has released the 911 call where the hotel employee reports that he has found the body.
Maintenance man Mike Kellow says that he thinks Gray has been “gone a while” and has suffered a “drug overdose.”
He also tells the emergency services that there is “a hypodermic needle next to the bed.”
No cause of death has yet officially been determined though police in Iowa said that there were no suspicious circumstances.
The coroner is awaiting toxicology tests on the body- which could take up to six weeks.
Earlier this week Slipknot called a press conference where they appeared unmasked and paid tribute to their bandmate- who helped found the group in 1995.
