    Default How to stop a blood blister from bleeding?

    My Dad has a blood blister which won't stop bleeding, does anyone have any suggestions?

    Keep it held high over his head and put something over it, blood doesn't travel up.

    As Alex has said keep it raised in the air (it doesnt need to reach over his head, aslong as its higher then his heart, it will eventually calm down.

    Wrap it up and keep it clean aswell.

    Thanks for the help guys, +rep to both of you. Shortly after I posted this it stooped bleeding, lets hope it keeps that way.

    Wrap some electrical tape around it. Thats what I do when I get blood blisters on my hands from rowing.

    Blood does travel up lol, if you elevate a part of the body (e.g. hand) above your heart it will reduce the bleeding as the pressure in which the blood is travelling at is reduced compared to if you kept your hand below your heart.
