Default sixty minute makerover? yeah, right.

I was casually glancing through the numerous amounts of SKY channels when a fairly good design caught my eye. I watched it for a bit despite the annoying commentary and cheesed antics of the design crew when something else caught my eye. The camera was focused on a particular area and you could blatantly see a builders digital watch at 20:16. Who begins building at seven o'clock in the evening? Sixty minutes? Yeah, right. They've been at it for hours.

Update: After a few scenes of shoddy design in a bedroom the builders watch is at 20:56.

all the prep work is done beforehand, then they do the actual makeover stuff in 60 minutes, but i still think 60 minutes is a bit little to paint and do carpets n stuff cus whenever people have laid carpets for us, they take forever. probably just to get more cups of tea but whatever

i'm sure they pay for a hotel in the area for the occupant/s of the house and move them there until they're finished. the whole thing seems so gimmicky and claire sweeneys voice is well irritating.

The way they get around it is 'tea breaks'.
These half an hour tea breaks are optional and people can choose to work through them.
So that really gives them around 2 hours and a half.
But the paint is still wet when they show them round.

The quality they finish the houses to is often atrocious, they've cut carpets short on a few occasions.
