There are a lot of pros with the N900 such as the ability to do some serious multitasking and to also be able to do full flash websites. However you will be forced to use it in landscape mode only, as the phone only supports landscape mode apart from the phone dialler which is in portrait.

Thanks for your reply + rep

I was actually going to by a netbook as my laptop is to big to take out all the time but with a phone upgrade due from what I have read the N900 will do what I need. I do think text messaging etc would be a pain with that keyboard which makes it a 2 hand job

The keyboard is actually really nice, it's not as nice as let's say the N97's keyboard, but it's great. And please do not get a netbook, I will shoot a kitten for everytime someone suggests getting a netbook. They are for people who fail in life lol. Maybe wait for the HP slate if all you want to do is browse the internet etc... But the N900 is ideal, it can even play Farmville on the go how cool is that?

VMWare are coming out with a dual boot solution for the N900, so you could run Android AND Windows Mobile at the same time on it

To be honest, you wouldn't want another OS, especially not the failure of Windows Mobile 6.5 or below. Android may be a good OS, but Maemo is capable of so much more than any other operating system on the market. Maemo5 is really the best Mobile Operating system that's in full release right now, if I was to be honest.

    Bump?

I went for the HTC Desire in the end and not got one complaint about it at all.
The reason I never went for the N900 is due to no one handed text operation (not for that reason lol)

    Thanks for your help.

The N900 is a very nice bit of kit, If it weren't so late I'd say why, but I'm tired and a bit drunk.

O/T but, my phone doesn't let me do what I need to do when I'm walking around school doing stuff to the network... and I don't wanna have to hold a clunky laptop in one arm Netbook ftw?
