    Default Email on computer notification

    Hey,
    When the only way I know I receive mail is if I go to my google account & refresh it. I always forget and I need something like this for my new project as I need to reply to people fast. I do not want to use a robot for a certain reason that I really couldn't be bother to explain.

    I need some sort of program on my computer that would notify me instantly that I have new mail. For example when your on messenger a message pops up on the side. Is something like this possible? I don't want to have two messengers signed in all day.

    +Rep,
    Rich.

    There is an application for HopperLive which informs you about GMail. I used it a while back.

    I setup my domain to Google apps and installed Google Talk on my computer - this notifies me of any email I get, which I can then click on and it shows the email in my browser.

    I use the google gmail notifier:

    http://toolbar.google.com/gmail-help...r_windows.html

    It goes in the little toolbar at the right bottom and pretty much instantly a little notification pops up when you get a mail and it changes colour so you know when you have messages in your inbox. I would recommend it, and I've been using it for years.

    I always use the Gmail manager add-on for Firefox (They do a similar one for Chrome too);
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1320/

    Displays a little unread count at the bottom and notifies you of new emails.

    Thanks guys, but I'm looking for something that will let me login with my own email @stancefm.com etc. I downloaded thunderbird last night and that works but I have to have the program opened 24/7 and its just very laggy.

    If you setup Google Apps with stancefm.com you can then use Google Talk with it and it will notify you, and it doesn't lag my computer
