Bah... doing A-Level coursework, if I wasn't i'd write a brief Windows jailbreak tutorial and Mac jailbreak tutorial.

Can i also point out that the blackra1n jailbreak does not work with newer iphones with the new bootrom =[

It does work, however it's tethered, meaning u must run blackra1n every time u power off your device and want to turn it back on

when i first got my iphone, i used this thread which i thought was very helpful. virtually defines everything for beginners and provides useful download links for firmwares, unlocking tools etc.

hope they can actually jailbreak the new bootrom properly!! I want to have my iphone jailbroken, but if it restarts and im not at home - ****ed.

Mine is probably Sbsettings, oddly enough!
And I like the beyoiphone, xsellize, and the other one with the cracked apps

The best apps IMO are Sbsettings, MyWi, 3G unrestrictor and Installous v2.5.
