Default How much was your insurance for your first car and what car was it?

I'm looking to buy myself a car and it's not the car i'm bothered about paying for it's the insurance which is definitely going to be expensive because i'm a first time driver.

So I was wondering when you first passed your test and you got a car, what car was it and how much was the insurance for it

I have my first car now, 2003 renault clio 1.2 dynamique and it's currently £1100 a year.
my test is in about 2 weeks though but i've been assured it won't go up much.
i'm on admiral multicar with my dad's vectra and my mum's zafira also on the policy.

My first year after passing with the 1.4 Clio was around £1400 fully comp in just my name, double what I paid for the car itself. Few years on it's a lot cheaper now (although far from actually being cheap ) but next to some newer drivers' costs I've seen that's still pretty good. Be sure to check Churchill/Direct Line rather than just using compare sites, because they're often cheaper and aren't on such sites.
