    Default getting older?

I've been thinking this for a long time and have spent some time mulling it over.

With habbox forum you have an age issue. Habbox as a main site is aimed at all habbo users. But return customers of hxf are in my mind, growing up. Your demographic has obviously changed from a few years back, you have users that have now grown up but continue to use our community.

I think, because your demographic has changed and the fact that you continue to aim at an age group which isn't entirely wrong (because they're the ones that continues to use habbo mostly) but for the main users of hxf is wrong you should consider something.

I think we should have the ability to swear.

Before i get brushed off I want you to consider something. Obviously being schooled I done english. Now i was taught that swearing isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's the context you use it in.

    For instance:

Isn't offensive. It's aimed at no one, it isn't necessary for the swearing but it add a dimension to someone's feelings and thoughts (defination of forums is to express one's self and to debate/discuss idea's etc).

IS OFFENSIVE. Now as you know, I may not post a lot. But i do browse a lot.

I feel that we should be allowed to swear on the full forum because we're not all childish. We wouldn't abuse our rights or privileges, and if we did we deserve for things to be changed - because obviously we were given too much. Although Habbo is for 12+ it's not necessarily the same on this forum. I feel that if habbo allows us to choose, swearing or non-swearing then we should be allowed to?

I mean you have a giant staff of fabulous moderation members, that are quite able to control our forum and use their powers to remove items that aren't for the public consumption. So if this was allowed, there actually wouldn't be added pressure? No one would avoid the filter ie. the time editing posts for filter avoidance would transfer to removing offensive swearing (directed at someone/vile etc).

If you disagree I think you should consider it. Give us a chance. We'll prove it.
Also, you could have some forums for users over the age of sixteen, who have been a member for over a year that you need to REQUEST access to? If you didn't want swearing on normal forums.

I feel you're just being juvenile and obviously blind to who your audience are if you're not aware of this.

You say that we focus on the younger members too much, the younger members are the future of Habbox and this has always been the case.

Whilst we know some forms of swearing aren't offensive and permit swearing like in the given example, however the swearing gets filtered because posts at HabboxForum are there permanently and in my opinion and the opinion of many others swearing looks messy, it's not very nice and it's completely unnecessary.

There's no need to swear and I don't think the fact that people can't swear is a deciding factor upon deciding to use HabboxForum or not.

Swearing shouldn't be used anyway. there isn't really need for it in the forum's and also i think you should put into perspective that some people (aka me) lied about my age to get onto habbo when i first found out about it - i was like 10-11. And also players all over the world are now playing habbo.com as 5 hotels have been merged,

Swearing mild forms such as "t*t or d*ck" should be aloud as it isn't really swearing (well, in my opinion its not)
    You can't touch this.

One point I see raised quite often in this regard is that users are "mature enough to swear". This is somewhat contradictory, age means people are allowed to swear however its relationship to maturity is negative. I don't personally find the need for posts to contain swearing in an unfiltered form - and even censored I tend to think of that person as a bit stupider for doing so.

Other forums may allow it, but I would hate to see this one get as low-brow as that.

Although I see your point about it not being aimed at someone. It just looks messy and is a pointless addition.

kebabjuice you completely contradicted yourself. Read over your post and reconsider your opinion. You've just stated it shouldn't be used then said it should be allowed in some cases because it's swearing? You avoided the filter, ie you swore?

I'm not saying that all words should be allowed. Hardcore words shouldn't!

And Oli i disagree, as you may have noticed. And at what point did you see me say that people because because they can't?

Sorry just laughed at that LOL!

I agree though, I think we should be able to swear as long as it's not offensive in any way...
Actually... I think we should be like Habbo and have the option to turn the filter on or off!

This is mentioned every time. If it's optional it may as well not exist at all.

I don't think it's right for Habbox. I'm really against removal of the filter. One thing I'm not so against is the filter becoming a bit looser but management have made it clear they don't intend of looking at that in the near future. I do understand your argument and agree to a very limited extent. Sure, you can swear and not be abusive BUT the swearing will stay on the forum for years and makes it look unwelcome. I'm pretty sure, being schooled in English, you can express yourself with an array of different expressions.

At the Habbo argument, remember the text on Habbo stays on screen for a maximum of 30 seconds as opposed to years on years.
