Sticking a thread?

Hey so basically in the Music forum we've had just a stupid amount of threads from the same few users that are beginning to annoy me, and I know it's bugging some other members. Basically, all these threads contain is a music video. Some don't even have text to support whatever is in said video. Not only am I sure that this is pointless posting, but the same individual has eight seperate threads, and the only one with more than five posts is one that me and another forum member had gently asked her to refrain from doing so (she's a new member, helping out the new people and so on).
However it's just getting stupid, as you can probably see from your logs, I use the Music forum a hell of a lot, and when I'm going through it, I don't want to have to see eight dead end threads each with a different video in, and like I said, some even without text in the post.

I don't fully understand you here. Are you suggest that people no longer create threads such as (for example): "Lady GaGa - Poker Face" where they would then post the music video and ask for peoples thoughts on the song and video? Instead, they would use your thread?

It's a music section, in a forum...
People can do whatever they like, and it is not pointless posting seeing as it contains a music video, Music section + Music vieo = Music

If he means that threads for individual songs and videos should no longer be created then I'm with you Jack. Surely that's the whole point of the music section.

well if you read my post you'd see that the user is posting threads without even writing in them, and while yes, they are to do with music, eight threads with like two replies are clogging up the forum and leaving more active threads unseen, i rarely see either of you in the music forum so it's not a problem for you, but someone such as me who is really active in there, it's very overwhelming

Isn't the music section there to post the lastest songs that people like. I have noticed recently that a member has been posting loads of musics videos with old songs and songs/bands that I personally have never heard of!

The music section is there to post the new music. It's kinda annoying that one or two users decide to post loadsss of old songs though.

The music section is not there to post new music at all, it's there to post any music, if it was there for new music it would be titled 'New Music Section'.

I understand where you're coming from and I agree that it can be a little annoying when users post videos without any corresponding text, making it look post count related and so I think something should be done about this. At least asking for people's opinions is better than nothing imo.

In regards to using a thread, I think this would be the death of the music section as I'd say that 98% of all new threads in there are created around users posting these video type threads which would leave the odd couple of threads being made about gigs etc. So perhaps we need to address the issue of posting videos for the sake of it.

Pretty much as Muct said, the music section is for posting music. There's no time limit as to when people can post songs that would then be considered as being 'old'. I think that posting unheard artists/songs is a great thing!
