Default hair dye? + rep for help

i got highlights in mid july, they were blonde and light brown like below

i'm starting to get roots now, i was wondering if i dye over all of it in like a month or two it's going to damage my hair a lot for dying it too soon? or will it just be like dying it any other time?
    thanks! +rep for help

nah, it won't ruin your hair if you're going to dye it in october time and dyed it last in july. some people do it much more regularly. i did my mates hair today actually, was a success! so i can do yours too xox

No. it won't damage it, but it may dry it out more.
The problem you may have is the fact that dying your own hair is difficult. Keep in mind when you do your own hair you may overlap - this means when you do it it may look okay but the next time you visit your hairdresser you may end up with damaged hair as she will have to work the hair harder for a more even colour. As well as that you may have to pay more.

Also, if you go from light blonde to dark straight away you're in risk of having dry patchy bits as the colour you put on will go on well, but slide off extremely quickly. This means you'll end up with your old highlights being a lighter colour than the rest.

You may be better going to a hairdresser for a consultation and she can help you (I don't mean waste their time btw), as you may need your hair pre-pigmented (if you've had blond highlights several times the area's where they were or are blonde may need to be pre-pigmented to replace the removed colours. this keeps the colour in for longer, and gives a much better result).

If you can't afford that you could always go to a hairdressing training college? Great way to get your hair done but on a budget .

    dunno, light brown

when i dyed mine light brown like 3 years ago though, it eventually fades to ginger and now i will forever have ginger faded hair
no matter how many times i dye it, unless i get it done professionally but i wouldn't bother
