Default Gamehut | Only the best game reviews

    Hey,

GameHut is an established gaming review website formed in mid 2009. Gamehut has recently been brought back up from the depths and is now being updated on a daily basis with new tweets, facebook posts, reviews, news bulletins and comments.

We are just here to let you know that we exist. Somewhere you can discuss your favourite gaming reviews and get your point across.

Currently in talks with Sony and other gaming industry leaders we are growing at a rapid rate, now with a steady user base we hope to expand very shortly and introduce some of the new features we have been planning for some time.

At the moment we are currently hiring more game reviewers to help make Gamehut even more active. There is no set amount of work you have to do, simply post a review when you get and play a new game. If your interested then please send your name, age, qualifications and small 150 review about something that's happened in the week to [email protected]. Please can the moderators note that this is not personal information, this is a business email address and is only used for this purpose.

Just incase the email gets removed you are more than welcome to PM me the same information and I will be more than happy to read it on this forum.

So why not become a part of a great little community that is growing daily!

Thanks for reading and any comments will be appreciated!

The theme is pretty appealing and it looks like you've got a good writing style for the subject, good luck gaining some more!

Just out of interest, have you received a personal reply from anybody from the industry? Seems a bit early on with the popularity of the site for any insider info or interviews but good luck if you have secured some proper talks.

One thing I would suggest is the use of an excerpt for your posts, so instead of the main article showing up and being cut off- you instead write a small alternate paragraph explaining what's in the full post- I found it helps to give more of a teaser rather than the goodness in the post

Other than that, looks pretty promising! If you want to find ways to improve your potential- have a look at your Woorank: http://www.woorank.com/en/www/gamehut.info as it's a good place to see how you can improve your search engine optimisation. Good luck again

Thanks very much, and yes we have had a personal response from sony. I won't go in to detail but they seem to be interested in providing us a service that will help us dramatically.

Also, I found the excerpt to be quite annoying, Personally I'd rather see what's going on in the post but I'll be sure to put your comment in to consideration and see how many people feel this way.

    Thanks again for your comment.

The problem is no one wants to read a review site that reviews titles after they're released - these days the internet is oversaturated with video game review sites and the "market" dominated by the mainstream providers. When people Google a video game, they'll get IGN and the top guys. You should start talking to PRs and get review copies if you can prove large hits. The quality of writing also leaves a lot to be desired. The new websites that start up and succeed are usually the ones who already have contacts in the industry and PR, who can set them up from the get-go.

I think your completely right. We are in talks with sony about receiving some pre-released games and it's looking extremely positive. Thanks for your comments.

    This.

Also, you should not do strictly game reviews. Editorials, previews, events etc. will get you in the money. Register an account on N4G.com and submit some news to get the ball rolling oh and put some job applications/calls for writers on http://www.gameleon.net and http://www.videogamejournalismjobs.com/

Coming from someone who is just coming out of writing for a AAA site (Platform Nation), you really really need to drum up variety in the content. I'm moving on to a bigger and broader site, but otherwise I'd be happy to help. As someone who knows the ropes, I gotta pass on the torch etc. etc.

Your post was extremely helpful to me. I am going to be signing up on these websites and hopefully bringing in some of the staff and maybe even some money. Thanks very much!
