Apple trying to sue company for using the word pod

I've just read an interesting article on the BBC News Technology page about Apple trying to sue a company as they are using the word Pod in their upcoming Video pod product.

What gets me is that the word Pod has been around far longer than Apple has. What do I use at work when I empty the tills in tescos - A money pod, and I could list many other uses of it in products and so on.

Everyone just seems to be suing everyone these days.

Apple can go sod themselves though, so it's all fine If they are going ahead with this then they're just further proving themselves to be a crappy company. They tend to be the cause of all this controversy with regards to copyright/patent infringements anyway. All I'm looking forward to is:

"Apple Goes Bankrupt"
or
"Apple is bought out by Microsoft"

I seriously do not like Apple, they're up there in my top 3 companies that should disappear - Sulake being one of them

Sure, they bring out nice innovations, but they're immediately over-taken by real companies that do things properly. Google and Android, Microsoft and Windows 7... Creative were good for MP3 players but they've lost their touch recently :/

I may have an iPod, but I'm none too happy with the company. If they just mysteriously disappeared, I most likely wouldn't care.

Well yeah they will sue anyone or anything just to get money, who wouldnt if they made millions every single day.

Off topic:
Apple might be money hungry but they have the best system for media, believe it or not, don't judge until you try it I prefered using a MAC when it came to multimedia, such as music, graphics and so on. They aren't designed for gaming. Thats why most of you don't like mac.

Can I ask what is wrong with Sulake - i havent really used Habbo for years.

And the problem with consumers is they sometimes think if people like their products then they can do what they want. This could lead to a backlash.

Apple seems to love taking people on - Its caused a lot of problems at the moment with Adobe claiming Flash is unstable and dangerous - I read an interesting article I can't find now that talked about one of the apparent true but hidden reasons that Apple didn't want to use Flash.

Apparently part of the flash technology was given to Firefox or something for free by adobe - I cant remember much about it but what I did hear is part of the technology for videos in XHTML is patented by Apple and thats why they want XHMTL to be big and why they won't support flash

you're forgetting that sueing commerical companies costs hundreds of thousands of pounds, if not more. if thats the case then would apple sue everyone who uses the word pod to describe something?
