Some sources are suggesting that after a £1 million pound offer, the band could reform for a tour and possibly a new album.[46] Former member James Bourne wrote on his Twitter page: "I'll *REMOVED* get up and do it any time, any day, anywhere." [47][48] However these rumours were quickly quashed by Charlie Simpson when he responded by stating, “I wish Matt and James all the best with their future projects but I want to make it unequivocally clear that I have no interest what-so-ever in re-joining Busted and I never will.”[49]
Matt Willis confirmed on August 18 that the rumours we're true, he and James Bourne have written some new material and they hope to have an album out next year, "Things are looking good. Fingers crossed, we should be making an album within the next six months hopefully. But we'll see.". He also noted that they would be taking a step back from the pop punk direction which Busted first done when they formed, "we're both 27 now. We're not 17 writing about school teachers and the year 3000. Also we're not writing about really grown-up stuff either". while adding "its quite 80s, quite synth-based." [50]
