Right im just wondering (no im not planning to ask someone to marry me) but im 20 nearly 21 and like 3-4 of my mates from school are engaged after being with people like 5-7 months?

I dont get tht cos imo you dont truly know someone till way after tht.

How much time would you give before you got engaged?

It depends on how well you get on with that person, some people need a few month, some a couple of years... so yeh as i say it just depends on when it feels right

I suppose everybody's different in how they feel but personally it'd have to be a good couple of years for me. I think 7 months is awfully short to be making a decision like that.

This girl from work is 18 and engaged, even though she has been with her boyfriend for a year, it's actually terrible.

I'd wait a couple of years personally, but it depends on the relationship one has with an individual I guess.

Depends for me...if I was with them 24/7 and really truly loved them, then maybe 9 months, but normally...probably 1-2 years.

Depends on the person who I like

Anyway a bit off topic, someone I know is engaged. She's 15. They're waiting till after college for marriage. I think that's pretty cool tbh.

personally i've been with my girlfriend 3 years and although we're deeply in love we're (in our opinion) far too young to get engaged. we are 18. i'd rather wait a couple more years til im certain to get engaged and then even a couple more til when we're settled to get married.

Someone in my year on valentines this year got engaged. (16 years of age). That was their 1 year aniversarry.

My friends parents got engaged after like 2 weeks I think it was :L and they're still together now.

But I do think it has to be like at least a year, although I see the temptation, its a bit reckless + risky doing it before at least 1 year.

But she's still so young, how does she know that's really what she wants? That's such a big commitment to make at that age.
