    Default Habbox Ideas and Feedback

In another thread I said I would give my feedback on Habbox and Habboxforum, as well as give some ideas on how things could be improved.

    ----

    Forum Moderation

I know this first point is not going to be very popular as the changes were only implemented on Sunday. However I do not believe that there are enough moderators at the moment. I understand the concern of giving too much power out to too many people, however I think today's incident is a perfect example. It took twenty minutes to ban a spam bot who posted at least 16 times in the Technology Section with his posted about a 'Limewire Fix'. You cannot expect moderators to be on the forum 24/7, and this is why I think 8-10 Moderators would be a better number.

    Habbo Donations

To be plain about it, a better scheme needs to be made for donations. When people offer to donate furniture, especially large amounts, Habbox should jump at the chance. However when I recently offered to donate some Battleball furniture - a few days after it was released - it was all very jolly, and suddenly all went quiet. I still have the furniture, and am awaiting someone to create a competition for it to be given away in. This isn't the first time it has happened for me, so I can only assume it happens on other occasions. My idea: Have a thread stuck on the 'Community Notice Board', with details on how to donate - and make a specific forum account whom users can contact to offer their donation. Then all someone needs to do is check the forum account once a week. This way the Donation's will not be lost in time - as, again I will make an assumption, Roxy must receive loads of private messages - so things can get lost quite easily. It is nothing complex - but it should hopefully improve the current situation. Also: Another thread should be updated regularly with who donated what, and to what department. For example:

    Habbox Donations

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated furniture to Habbox - you can check out who has donated and what they have donated below!

    -- The Competitions Department
    - Sophie - X Credits
    - Daniel - X Credits
    - xxMATTGxx - X Credits

    -- The Events Department
    - Sophie - X Credits
    - Daniel - X Credits
    - xxMATTGxx - X Credits

    -- The Habbox Live Department
    - Sophie - X Credits
    - Daniel - X Credits
    - xxMATTGxx - X Credits

-- Special Events (eg. Summer Super Spectacular)
    - Sophie - X Credits
    - Daniel - X Credits
    - xxMATTGxx - X Credits

    Once again, thank you!
People don't always want big thank you's and things - but I think noting who has donated what etcetera is just courtesy.

    The Rare Values Department

People are using the Market Place much more to get rare values now - so I think it is essential to keep up to date with rare values. I am not completely sure how to rectify this problem, however the values on Habbox are often out of date. Which, in my opinion, is the one thing that must not happen. I understand that you cannot compete with Sulake in getting the most accurate values. So, my idea: Since Rare Values websites are being less used, why not start to concentrate on writing articles for Rare Values. Write articles based on predicted Rare rises and falls, you could write articles on all sorts of things - that habbo players would read. If you wish to keep getting players on to Habbox give them something new. Give them something they can't get on habbo - so many habbo players would love to hear how they can make some profit.

    Habbox Live

It is obvious the Habbox Live has lost listeners over the past year or so. It used to get 200-300 listeners most of the time - and now it struggles to hit 90. I think there are a lot of factors that have impacted this - the main one being Habbox is no longer needed for Rare Values quite as much - so people don't come across the website quite so easily. I think the key to Habbox Live climbing back up is to keep the current listeners. My idea: Perhaps more specific weekly/fortnightly shows should be brought in. Shows such as the 'Chart Show', '90's Show', Millennium Show (2000-2005) could be brought in - once habbo players find out about these, they may tune in - especially if they like that kind of music. It would bring more variety to Habbox too. Another idea: Room raids and games. DJ's should be encouraged to do games such as 'Find me - I am in a public room! To win the prize you must shout 'HABBOX.COM' in the public room you are in. Users like having fun - and getting Habbox advertising across multiple rooms can only be a good thing. Take advantage of Official Status you have.

    Competitions Department

There isn't much to say about this department. But HC sofas are not exactly the most exciting prizes in the world. They are worthless on habbo now - credits are much more in demand - so users are probably going to be more inclined to enter if they like the look of the prize. My idea: I think you should have more forum based competitions. Why not have a 'quest' once in a while - I think one was done at easter.

    ----

Anyway that is it from me for now - I will finish tomorrow.

The donations I have to agree with, I remember when I left Habbo and offered all my stuff to Habbox (including full petal floors, Pink Pillows, Thrones etc which, three years ago were worth a lot) however they didn't really get back to me so I stuck it all on eBay.

Your ideas are actually quite good and might work really well, it will be great to see some of them used.

As for the values being outdated, I agree completely and this is why I have been reporting more. However, I must say that the activity within the rare values department has increased a lot lately, particularly because of people returning the the new trialists. However, -Danube- a few days ago said that shortly after becoming manager, he didn't have access to the panel and now I believe he is unable to update values due to panel problems. However, I'm sure that the new version of Habbox Values is due to arrive before Christmas Obviously, we can't leave the values at their current prices until then so hopefully Dan will be able to update the values as soon as possible.

Writing articles on the market is actually something I was about to speak to Dan about before deciding I'd come see the feedback forum first! I remember when Lost-shark used to do trading tips but when he left, no one was able to take over even though I'm sure a few people including myself offered to do so.

I think that if rare values management in particular did some kind of weekly market overview, then provided it's done properly it could be a great success. I think that this could include some of the most significant and/or unexpected value changes since the last article could be included, as well as predicted increases and decreases as well as a comment on the market as a whole and the items and sections recently released, and a link to where they can be found on Habbox Values. Obviously this can be played around with to make it popular with everyone

We're moving into credits actually, I asked for credits ages ago but it was bad timing on my part because of HxSS. Luckily, Wizzz donated 1000 credits to kickstart it all, which leads me into the donation thing quite nicely. I agree, a new system needs to be arranged. For some unknown reason, there's suddenly been a massive uprising of donations and they're just not recorded properly. This led me to make a (temporary*) 'competitions - donations' thread in the competitions forum.

Our last quest was done for HxSS, I think the forum's doing one very soon (although don't quote me on that if it doesn't happen, I'm not 100% sure) and HxHD may also be doing more quests. Personally, I think they lose their effect if done constantly. 'Big' competitions aren't 'big' if they're being done every 5 minutes hence why I tend to space my quests and stuff out

*temporary because I was under the impression that after the last thread talking bout this, something was being done.

Thanks for your comments Luke. Rare Watch is something that could attract users to habbox - but I think it is important to remember not all rare value reporters enjoy writing a lot. So perhaps a specific role could be made, but I feel it is best to keep the role inside the rare values department, rather than moving it out elsewhere, to a department such as content.

I guess the panel problem is really unfortunate - and let's be honest the rare values department can not be held to blame for that at all. I will make another thread tomorrow, specifically for rare values, as I have a few more ideas to help the department stay successful - as I believe it is key to keeping habbox as popular as it has proven to be over its six year life.

Forgot to add to my post that I agree with the competition prices changing from Club Sofas to Credits and I agree with your idea regarding Donations. As for there not being enough moderators, I agree completely. I think there should be at least 7-8 and I feel that there should be [I]more[I] moderators when compared to super moderators.

You have posted some good suggestions to be honest. The 'Habbo Donations' idea with the thread, would you say that would only be ideal for people who donate credits? Because some people do donate a load of furni which could take a while to do a whole list of. So maybe to add onto the thread so that it can say the following:

xxMATTGxx - Donated a large amount of furni
I think the thread would be nice to recognized the people who have donated credits or furni for Habbox, there is a selection for this on the website but a thread would be a lot better to manage. I shall talk to Roxy to get the thread going which can be updated by her and myself and other members of Managements who may receive donations for whatever reason.

    Rare Values Department

I'm going to put this out here before anyone else picks up on it. The current values on Habbox.com are currently outdated and this is because due to problem we are facing within the back end of the system meaning the values cannot be updated at this moment in time. There should be a Habbox Today or a message somewhere on the site explaining that to the users. Articles may be a good thing to start doing, I'm sure the RVR Management who are more experience in the whole value business than I am will come up with their view and ideas towards it.

    Competitions Department

I do believe they were going to switch over to using credits very soon!

    Habbox Live

I think the other reason Habbox Live isn't getting the 200-300 listeners mark is because Habbo radios are not what they used to be in the Habbo community and they aren't as popular as they used to be, not just Habbox's. Although that isn't the sole reason why HabboxLive is struggling to keep a certain amount of listeners.

I agree with the comment on big events/competitions aren't bit when done constantly - sorry if I came across as wanting more big quests (like every other week!) I did see your competitions donations thread - however I do think a main thread with all the donations should be made - stating what department received the donation (or if it was a general donation).

It is encouraging to see staff who are managers/high up in their department replying with their thoughts.
