Charger plug makes continuous beep

hi so I plugged my psp charger in and it's making a continuous high pitched beep. I dunno if the beeps coming from the actual plug or the socket but anything else I plug into the socket don't make the beep. If I push down on the plug then the beep gets louder.. What could it be and should I stop using it? I'm stuck on a decision whether taking the risk of killing all my family is worth charging my psp :/

Something may be dodgy inside the power brick like a capacitor, best to get it checked out or borrow a friend's to see what happens.
