Default Aftershock Earthquake in Christchurch [NZ]

Well last year September a pretty big quake hit Christchurch, which is situated on the South Island of New Zealand.

An aftershock has occurred today at 12:51PM, it was very sharp and only 5km deep.Today's quake was 6.3 Magnitude. It was followed by a 5.7 magnitude aftershock at 1.04pm at a depth of 6km. The original earthquake in September was around 45km in depth.

If you didn't know, the deeper it is, the less damage it will cause, so this is a very serious earthquake.

The aftershock is a lot worse than the original quake. An estimated 10 people have died so far as a result of the quake

This is a huge shock after not long ago overcoming the pike river mine disaster.

I feel so bad for those 75 people and their families. I hope those pictures really are of the absolute worst places damaged, and that not everywhere is as bad.
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.

It's so disappointing to see the last few month's recovery effort have all been stripped down again. That church.. just wow.

My heart goes out to not only the people affected, but the entire nation.

The worst damage happened on the Pyne Gould Corporation building.

The 4 or 5 stories, literally stacked like a pancake on each other. It was totally destroyed. - Cant find a pic atm :S
