    Default Microphone help

    Hey,
I know you can buy microphones specifically for this but I forget what it's called. Basically I want a microphone that has the same volume wither I am screaming or talking, it will be the same volume. Any ideas? I currently have a microphone so if it's possible to do it with any microphone advice would be really grateful.

Any XLR mic can do this with a voice processing unit that has AGC and Compression, this is what is used on every fm station that is worth their salt before it enters the mixing board. Mine here then goes into the mixer along with all the audio then before going out onto the air there is another compressor, gate and EQ on the final mix to make it sound great.

If i were you i would first upgrade the mic, sorry to say but the mic is shocking. Something like a Behringer B1 would be a big step up or a Audio Technica AT2020 both are favourites in community radio.

Processing wise the Tripple c comes recommended but just look for anything with a AGC and some compression

Good choice, nice mic but not that keen myself, think it sounds slightly stateside but a nice mic. If you have money to burn go for a Neumann u87 used in national radio aka Radio 1 most commercial though use the Audio Technica AT4033

Yeah I wanted something for online broadcasting that sounded professional. Eventually I'll probably get something higher
