Default Resizing web pages for monitor sizes?

My web designer has designed my new site and got it really good. The homepage fits perfectly on my monitor, no scrolling properly.

The problem is bigger monitors get the page and then some random stuff at the bottom.

Is there a way to code it so that the page would attempt to resize itself for the size of the users monitor as right now it makes it look ugly?

    Thanks

It depends on how its currently coded and the overall design, most of the time you can get it to work by simply changing the size of elements to use percentage instead of an exact pixel size. Although if the layout is very design heavy this might cause problems and would need to be re-sliced and recoded with this in mind.
