Is anyone here doing it or has done it? I'm considering taking Maths as an A Level next year, I'm wondering on a scale of 1 to 10 how did you find it? 10 being amazing, 1 being terrible.
I plan to do physics as well which apparently ties in with it![]()

Doing it currently. I consider myself a mathsy person and im finding it relatively fine. Found nothing particularly impossible so far although a couple of things can be a bit of a *****. If you're wondering or not whether you should take maths because of its difficulty, i strongly recommend not taking physics. One of the hardest things ive ever tried to learn. Although if you know for sure that your teachers are good i suppose its possible, however if they're average/crap, do not even consider taking physics.
As long as you have some decent teachers for your subjects, you should be ok. More or less finished a level now, just waiting on the exams now. It's about a 7 I would say on a scale, and yes physics is an arse of a subjectbut if you're willing to put the work in, you should be alright!!
Know a few people with terrible teachers. Got A's - A*'s at GCSE, but AS and A2 they're getting U's... and not even close to anything like E's. e.g. tests last week people were getting on avg. 12/72.
All depends on teachers previous results and how comfortable you feel challenging them, if you don't understand anything. (Physics teachers are generally good where I am though).
Best of luck![]()
superhappy.
Two of my friends who were due to get A or A* in Maths at GCSE decided to do AS Maths. One of them dropped it within the first few weeks and the other is still there, but getting Cs and **. English is my forte so I wouldn't dream of taking Maths (I was glad to get rid of it!) but I'm sure if it's definitely your thing then you'll be fine.
Oh yeah, and the guy who still does Maths is also doing Physics but he's dropping it for A Level. Apparently it's reeeeeeeally hard.
