    Default Starting playing the guitar.

    Ok hi.

So it turns out we have a guitar lying around, and i thought i would start learning to play it (a basic, right handed acoustic), anyway this is the first time ive held a guitar and i need help on holding it let alone playing it, ive looked online but they are really confusing...

Can anybody give me any links to absoloute beginner guides...

    Thanks alot.

I used youtube videos to learn the basics Can't remember which ones though It helps a lot if you can play another instrument though, I probably would have been lost if I hadn't been able to play piano.

Hold it like you would hold a women laying down and your left hand is holding her head, ready to kiss her. That's what my guitar teacher always used to say

    Guitar notation basically.
Having a look on YouTube for basic chords or basic little riffs.
Your best bet would be to get a guitar teacher though.
