unlocking iphone 3gs +rep.

hiyaa, i have an iphone 3gs and i'm looking to unlock it as o2 are messing me about a bit with my contract, and my family currently have a spare orange pay monthly sim knocking about. if it's possible, i'd prefer to unlock the phone without having to jailbreak. but if it comes down to jailbreaking, if anyone could link me to a clear-ish guide. i'm not a complete noob, i should be able to cope.

If you go down the jailbreak road then there are video guides on YouTube... So you will be able to follow and pause it step by step
