Regardless of wether he is polite he shouldn't state "I will ban you for spreading false rumours" despite the fact that he might not have taken your throne. Moderators need to be aware of the fact that you can not ban someone for simply making negative statements or spreading false rumours. Looks to me like you managed to make him angry and he was ready to abuse his powers on you.
I suppose you are lucky to still have your account.
