    Default Video Card thingys

    UUmmmmm I have no idea if I've put this in the correct forum

    I recently purchased Minecraft but it just says that the video card drivers need updating etc;

    I had a terrible virus which made us have to delete everything from the system and go back to the origional settings, and ever since then we haven't been able to play any games through the CD drive of the computer.
    The computer is fine to play online games such as habbo etc.

    We've tried to download new video cards etc but it just won't do it!

    Anyone got any tips? :S

    If you don't already know what your graphics setup is, use Speccy to see if it can find out for you: http://piriform.com/speccy

    Then try the ATI website, NVIDIA and Intel tools to see if you can get the correct drivers then.

    Post your graphics setup too if you know it, or find out what it is and someone should be able to narrow it down for you

    Its all driver related, if you cant play via the DVD/CD Drive, its to do with drivers, try going into System manager (Right click on my computer/computer, properties, device manager, and post a screenshot)

    Video cards are tricky... Considering you had a virus and format C'd your pc it might have reset some of the settings and the virus might have deleted some of the files for the device as happened to my laptop. It might also be that your video card isn't good enough to play the game, as is the problem with my current laptop anyway this wouldn't affect any internet games as they are flash or java based mostly but when it comes down to the video card problems there might be several different issues... My suggestion would be to have a professional take a look at it.

    Do what elliot said or take it to someone who can do it for you (although they'll charge through the roof for it).
