Since the forum is pretty much dead, well from what it used to be, maybe a few competitions should be in order. Maybe do a referral competition for like forum vip and some credits on habbo, that way people would be advertising on and off habbo. I'm sure it has been done in the past but I'm sure if you add both forum vip and habbo furniture you will have both sides focused.

    Just a suggestion lol

As long as they closely watch IPs and stuff like that it would be gooood!

Edit - just realised all the HabboxLive DJs will advertise like crazy on air.

This could work but if there is a referral competition, I think that person referred should have to make 5/10 posts before they're counted as a referral for the competition - if that makes sense .

    Not online very often

My suggestion would be a two-stage referral contest. Small prizes based on number of referrals (once you hit level a, prize x, level b, prize y, etc.) and then after a month, the cutoff is there and referrers and referrees are recorded. The person with the highest number of referrees after 6 months (normal logins, x posts) wins the prize (and second, third, etc.)
It costs nothing to be a good friend.

I also use the account nvrspk on other computers.

I think a referral competition is a good idea and something that I'll work a way to do that benefits the forum rather than people just getting people to sign up then never come back. I did have an event planned for about 3 weeks ago but then I was sort of away so was unable to do and then was unable to do last week/this week due to HxSS! So i'll work out a way to do this, good suggestion!

You could also have an award for any referrals (Assuming different IP) with over 50 posts.

If you're going to do a competition then I'd suggest (Whilst it being naughty) putting a hidden cookie on people's machines so you can track them just in case they log out and get a new IP.

That's just absolutely terrible. I'd never use a forum if I found out they done that.

You should probably stop using google and most other websites. Just about every flash advert you encounter will probably give you a hidden and difficult to remove flash cookie.

I totally agree - terrible invasion of privacy. I really don't think people would be bothered to change IP anyway for a referral competition but if they did then anybody referred should be subject to a certain amount of posts before the credit for the member given. Personally I feel the forum is fine. At least it is not spammed up with superficial threads has it has been in the past and it is holiday time and summer so people have other things to do. There are plenty of active members so forecasts of it's death is pretty premature.
